Man Heads to Prison for Youngster’s Death

MARSHALL – An illegal immigrant from Mexico has been sentenced to prison in Marshall for the death of his girlfriends little girl in 2015. In a plea agreement, Jose Luis Casiano-Aburto, 31, pleaded guilty to the death of 2-year-old Yeli Madalyn Jimenez. State District Judge Brad Morin, who accepted the plea agreement Wednesday, sentenced him to 20 years in prison. Casiano-Aburto was arrested in the case in Mexico in December 2013. He was then extradited back to Harrison County.
