There will be demolition work as part of an ongoing construction project. Motorists should avoid the work zone beginning Sunday night at 7:00. District TxDOT spokesperson Kathi White says the contractor will be removing 10 concrete beams from the shoofly bridge at the railroad overpass on Loop 323. The northbound lanes will be reduced to one lane and shifted to the southbound side to set up a crane on the northbound side near the bridge. The southbound lanes will carry two-way traffic. The contractor will stop traffic on Loop 323 for about 15 minutes per beam during the removal process. The remaining substructure of the bridge will also be removed overnight Sunday. Traffic flow should return to normal by 6:00 Monday morning.
