Henderson County Youngster Drowns

COFFEE CITY – A toddler has died in a Tyler hospital after being pulled from Lake Palestine. The drowning occurred around 3:00 Saturday afternoon in the lake off Brierwood Drive in the Coffee City area. Henderson County authorities say a babysitter was watching several children and went for a walk when a child ran away from her. While the babysitter chased after that child, a nearly 21 month old youngster wandered into the lake. He was taken to a nearby residence and CPR was administered, and then taken to a Tyler hospital. The youngster’s name has not been released. Child Protective Services is assisting the sheriff’s department in the investigation.
