Posted/updated on: April 23, 2017 at 5:18 amMARSHALL – The Harrison County Sheriff’s Office is alerting residents of a K-9 scam that is making the rounds. According to a news release from the sheriff’s department, someone is calling and asking for donations for the purchase of drug trained dogs. The caller says the “local sheriff’s office and police department budgets are depleted and the purchase of the K-9s from the public will help in the fight against drug trafficking.” Residents are told to ignore these calls, since law enforcement will not call and ask the public for any donations.
