Boil Water Notice in Palestine

PALESTINE – A portion of Palestine is under a boil water notice today. Due to a water line replacement, a boil water notice has been issued for residents on North Jackson Street between Brooklyn Avenue and Tip Street, and the entire lengths of Alta Vista and Harrison streets. When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, the water system officials will notify the residents when the water is safe for consumption. According to the city news release, to ensure destruction of harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking and making ice should be boiled prior to use. The water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes. In lieu of boiling, you may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source.
