Palestine Boil Water Notice
Posted/updated on: May 4, 2017 at 3:50 pmPALESTINE – A boil water notice is out in Palestine today for Trimble Street. Due to a fire hydrant replacement, the boil notice was issued for residents on Trimble Street between Ragland and Fitzhugh streets, including the 400 block of Fitzhugh Street. It will remain in effect until water system officials notify residents that the water is safe for drinking.
According to the city news release, to ensure destruction of harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking and making ice should be boiled prior to use. The water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes. In lieu of boiling, you may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source. Residents will be notified when the boil water notice is lifted and the water is safe to use.
