LONGVIEW — A Longview man was arrested Thursday after reportedly leading officers on a high-speed chase. According to KETK and the Longview News-Journal, Kerry Dale Rawlinson, 61, was held Friday on bonds totaling $17,500. He was charged with evading arrest detention with a vehicle and possession of a prohibited weapon.

Authorities say police tried to stop Rawlinson’s vehicle at about 8:20 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of Harrison and Jordan Valley roads for driving without his headlights on. Police say Rawlinson sped away, driving into the opposite lane of traffic to pass another vehicle and attempting to turn around at the intersection of Harrison Road and Texas 42. According to authorities, an officer was able to impede the vehicle’s path to stop Rawlinson and arrest him. Police said they also found a loaded sawed-off shotgun sitting in the front passenger seat of Rawlinson’s vehicle.
