KETK and the Longview News-Journal report Stefan Omar Pentecost, 20, was held Thursday on bonds totaling $30,500, charged with evading arrest detention and theft of a firearm. Longview police responded at 11:38 a.m. Wednesday to a Birdie Place location in reference to a domestic problem. When officers arrived, they determined Pentecost had an outstanding warrant for his arrest, police said.
Pentecost fled the scene on foot, and officers chased him through the house into the backyard, across a creek, and into another house on Lane Wells Street, police said. A resident of the house came outside and confirmed Pentecost was hiding inside, according to authorities. Police arrested Pentecost inside the home. Law officers say residents of the house told them they saw Pentecost run into the house with a gun when he was attempting to hide. Officer Kristie Brian said the residents found the gun in a bedroom in the house after Pentecost was arrested. “They helped by bringing the gun outside — by turning it in and not disposing of it some other way,” Brian said. Police later determined the gun was stolen.
