Long List of Candidates for March Primary in Smith County

Among the highlights: Louie Gohmert has an opponent in the GOP congressional race, and two people have filed on the Democratic side. In the state House District 6 contest, incumbent Matt Schaefer will have an opponent, with one independent and one Democrat to appear on the ballot as well. The district attorney race includes two Republicans, and County Judge Nathaniel Moran will face a Democratic opponent in November.
