ETCF Announces Scholarships Available for East Texas Students

TYLER — East Texas Communities Foundation is currently accepting applications from East Texas students for 51 scholarships. Deadline for submission is February 1, 2018, at 5:00 p.m., unless noted otherwise. All applications and supporting documents must be submitted online. A student may apply for every scholarship for which he or she meets the eligibility requirements. Applicants should complete a unique application for each scholarship. Detailed eligibility criteria and links to the applications are available on the ETCF website at http://etcf.org/scholarships/available-scholarships/.

Three new scholarships have been established this year:

Helen Elbert Scholarship: This scholarship the memory of Mrs. Elbert, an outstanding piano teacher and musician. It will be awarded to an East Texas graduating senior who plans to major in music with a preference for piano majors.
Amount: $500.00

Michael J. McCormick Scholarship: This scholarship was created in memory of Michael by his friends and family. It will benefit graduating seniors at All Saints Episcopal School in Tyler, Texas. Their children attended All Saints Episcopal School and Stacy taught kindergarten there for 13 years.
Amount: $2,000.00

Rhonda Pendry Scholarship: Rhonda Penry was a dedicated teacher at Tarkington Intermediate School in Cleveland, Texas for 15 years with a career spanning 25 years in total. Her first students and her three sons, established this scholarship to honor her upon her retirement.
Amount: $500.00
