TYLER – Some new police cars are staring to appear on Tyler streets. There are 13 new 2018 Dodge Chargers, decked out with newly designed striping. The new graphics will include the departmental badge, larger “Tyler Police” lettering and improved reflectivity for visibility. Not only will the vehicles have a new look, but also include enhanced technology features meant to increase safety and efficiency for the officers. This new vehicle branding will be phased in over the next three years with all newly purchased Tyler police vehicles being outfitted with the new striping package. The last time they made a striping update was in the late ‘90s. Police chief Jimmy Toler said, “It’s time for an upgrade.”
