OVERTON — Overton school officials say they have followed up on a possible threat and no one is, or has been, in danger. Superintendent Steven Dubose says before school started Monday morning, high school principal Cindy Bundrick was informed of a possible threat made by a student last week. Dubose says the student was escorted to the office upon arrival Monday morning and questioned by school administrators and Overton Police Department officers. The superintendent adds that the student was taken into the hands of OPD and was never in a classroom or around other students Monday. In a statement, Dubose says, “Overton Independent School District takes every incident or threat seriously and will continue to provide a safe and secure environment for our students.”
