SMITH COUNTY – The Smith County Sheriff’s Office Friday offered new information as it continues to investigate an apparent murder/suicide. Sgt. Darrell Coslin identifies the two victims as 31-year-old Joshua Alexander Woodruff and 32-year-old Texas Colby Manning. A witness says the two got into a physical altercation that later appeared to be settled. The three then reportedly bought ammunition and went to shoot a firearm. Detectives believe Manning later shot Woodruff, then turned the gun on himself. The men’s bodies were found on Highway 31 East around 9:00 Wednesday night.
