Lincoln MKZ

Lincoln MKZ (Posted by Lonnie)

The Lincoln MKZ arrived this week and I have to tell you when I looked out the window Lincoln did not jump out at me. The styling of the MKZ is too staid for such a sporty class. After all the MKZ was built with the intention of competing with cars like the BMW 3-series. The 2008 Lincoln MKZ ranks 13 out of 15 Upscale Midsize Cars at www.rankingsandreviews.

The seats are a little firm for my taste. But then again when it comes to luxury cars the seats can never be too soft. One huge advantage to the MKZ is the extremely roomy trunk. It has over 15 cubic feet of storage and has a low-loading trunk lid so you won’t need to throw the bag of dog food. You can simply drop it in. For reasons that are beyond me, the MKZ has ample interior room. The reason I mention this is that the MKZ, like the Ford Fusion, is based on the Mazda6 platform. So, how does Lincoln carve out more interior room than Ford out of basically the same car? Magic! Lincoln has also succeeded in making the MKZ substantially quieter than the Fusion.
