One year ago today, I was in New York City at Ground Zero covering the activities and remembrances in connection with the fifth anniversary of the terrorist attacks of 9/11.

One of the five video pieces I produced in connection with that coverage bears repeating.

When I was a very young man trying to break in to the radio business, the dominant station in my hometown of Dallas was KLIF 1190 AM.

The station was owned by radio pioneer Gordon McLendon and one of the things that it featured was editorials that McLendon himself wrote and voiced.

McLendon's editorials were strictly a one-way street. There was no practical method by which listeners could agree or disagree.

Today, broadcaster and listener can maintain a dialogue. And that's what this portion of ktbb.com is about.
