DALLAS (AP) – A Dallas police officer has been placed on administrative leave after she was accused of participating in an illicit gambling operation at a convenience store. A Wednesday statement from the Dallas Police Department says Sgt. Latasha Moore was arrested late Tuesday night by the department’s Public Integrity Unit. She’s been charged with gambling promotion, a misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $4,000. The Dallas Morning News reports Moore was arrested after detectives saw her walk into a southeast Dallas convenience store about 6 p.m. Feb. 13 while on duty. Surveillance video showed her making a $1,600 cash deposit an hour later at an automated teller machine across the street from the store.
