HARRISON COUNTY – Authorities say a body found in Shreveport was that of a man who’d been sought in a deadly shooting near Waskom. According to Harrison County Sheriff’s Lieutenant Jay Webb, officials conducted a welfare check on a possible homicide victim at a home on Boggy Road. According to our news partner KETK and the Longview News Journal, that death is believed to be connected to a Caddo Parish hostage situation and shooting Wednesday night.

The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office said James Salone, 56, of Keithville, Louisiana, broke into his ex-girlfriend’s home, held a group hostage, shot and injured a man, shot at deputies, and then later escaped through a back window. A stolen car tied to the Harrison County home and which officials believe was used by Salone also was found Thursday morning in Shreveport. Authorities now say that car belonged to the Harrison County victim, who was found with a suspected single gunshot wound. It was learned Friday afternoon that Salone’s body had also been found and that he had apparently taken his own life.
