TYLER — On Tuesday the Smith County Commissioners Court took action to appoint Amber Greene as supervisor of the Smith County Animal Control and Shelter. Ms. Greene takes over the role vacated by Le’Kisha Stinecipher, who left at the end of January to go into ministry work. Smith County Judge Nathaniel Moran said there were about 50 people who applied for the supervisor position.

They were vetted down to two candidates, both current animal control employees, who were interviewed by the Commissioners Court in executive session on Tuesday. During open session, the court voted unanimously to appoint Ms. Greene. Moran said both were quality candidates who gave quality interviews.
