Grand Opening Scheduled for Transfer Center

LONGVIEW — In 2010, the City of Longview developed a master plan for a multimodal transportation facility, anchored by the now-renovated Historic Longview Depot and including Longview Transit, Greyhound, and Go Bus. The countdown is on for the launch of the new Longview Transit Transfer Center. After more than three years of preparation, Longview Transit will open with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Official Grand Opening on Nov. 4.

In February 2016, Longview Transit submitted the initial $1.4 million application to the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) for Intercity Bus Funding to construct a Transfer Center. The funding helped purchase the property, construct the facility and pay for other related costs. The completion of the Transfer Center places transit riders in proximity of other transportation providers and allows for service expansion in Longview with the addition of a new route.
