LUFKIN — Lufkin Police officers on Thursday arrested a Huntington couple for fighting at the Angelina County Courthouse, where they had met to take family violence counseling. Margaret and Garry Paul Kimmey began verbally fighting in the counseling session and continued the argument outside afterward, according to a police report. A Lufkin Police officer driving by saw them scratching, slapping and grabbing each other. He stopped and took them both in on charges of assault/family violence.

Garry Kimmey, 57, has been arrested three times on charges of assault/family violence since May, according to Angelina County records. This appears to be his 60-year-old wife’s first arrest in Angelina County. Both were released from jail on a personal recognizance bonds the same day.
