Longview Fire Department Names First Woman Officer

LONGVIEW � Six Longview firefighters got new badges this week, including the department�s first woman firefighter to promote to officer. Longview Fire Chief J.P. Steelman said firefighters Amy Dodgen and Eric Karling were promoted to lieutenant; Olan Doxey and Josh Tanner were promoted to captain; and Tim Maricle was promoted to driver. According to KETK and the Longview News-Journal, Steelman said Dodgen is the first woman firefighter in the department�s history to be promoted past a firefighter and paramedic.
