Police: Longview Woman Used Staple Gun, Hammer in Assault

Staci MurryLONGVIEW — A Longview woman has been arrested after police say she assaulted another woman with a hammer and staple gun in the 400 block of Johnson Street. That’s according to KETK and the Longview News-Journal. Staci Murry, 49, allegedly told the woman she was going to hit her with a hammer. The victim told police Murry swung the hammer at her twice but missed, forcing the victim to take shelter inside her apartment, according to police reports. Murry was able to open the door, at which time she hit the victim in the eye with a staple gun, according to authorities. Police say the two women began fighting and had to be pulled apart by neighbors. Murry is being held in the Gregg County Jail on $15,000 bond charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
