TYLER – Habitat for Humanity of Smith County announces the 100 For 100 In 100 Campaign: 100 sponsors for the 100th home to be built in just 100 hours. Traditionally, Habitat homes are sponsored by one or more businesses, churches or organizations. For the 100th home, however, Habitat is inviting at least 100 sponsors to be involved.

“The people of Smith County have supported our work for nearly 25 years, so we want the 100th home to be a community-wide event,” said Jack Wilson, Habitat’s chief executive officer. “That’s why sponsorships are only $700.” Deanna Harrison, Habitat’s director of development, added, “At just $700, families, businesses, groups of friends and neighbors can be a part of this historic build. There’s only one chance to build the 100th home and we want everyone to have the opportunity to join in the excitement.”

In order to build the home in just 100 hours, Habitat is collaborating with Garrett & Associates General Contractors. “Everyone at Garrett & Associates agrees that life is more than just about ourselves,” said Marcia Garrett, the company’s director of business development. “We want to use our talents and gifts to build up, to encourage, to strengthen and to share hope. What better way to do that than to partner with Habitat for Humanity?” Sub-contractors who are interested in participating in the build should contact Randy Garrett at Garrett & Associates, 903.839.7909. Construction volunteer opportunities are limited and available only to home sponsors.

The 100th home will be built at 1702 N. Spring Avenue in Tyler during the first three weeks of November. Currently Habitat is building their 98th home located at 1810 Robbins. The 99th home will be built at 1812 Robbins beginning in September. Visit http://www.100campaign.com for more information and to follow the 100th build.
