thumb_TISD_Logo_NewTYLER Tyler ISD is asking staff, teachers, students, parents, and community members to provide what’s termed important feedback through a Strategic Plan Survey that launched today. Designed and conducted by independent research and communication firm K12 Insight, the survey will guide important District decisions regarding various areas including curriculum, communication, and resource allocation, according to a TISD news release. Our stakeholders voices play a vital role in the development of our strategic goals, said Tyler ISD Superintendent Gary Mooring. In order to ensure that our students are prepared to be productive citizens, we must all work together to provide our teachers and students with the resources and learning environment they need to be successful.

Tyler ISD employees, as well as parents and community members who have provided their email address to the District, will receive an email invitation to participate in the survey. The survey will also be accessible at http://www.tylerisd.org via the Districts website. Individuals who are unable to access the survey online may contact the District communications office at
903-262-1064 to request a paper survey.

According to officials, all responses will be both anonymous and confidential because the district would like to receive candid feedback and widespread participation. The survey will be available until Friday, November 15, at which time the results will be collected and shared with the Strategic Plan Action Teams. School officials say team members will use the data as they form strategic initiatives.

Strategic Plan Action Teams will work on developing and writing the strategic plan, while seeking regular feedback from the community on each of the plans components until February 2014, according to the news release. In addition, officials say, Strategic Plan Action Teams will revise the Tyler ISD mission statement to ensure that it more accurately articulates current challenges and goals. This is an exciting time of growth and change, Mooring said. And with the ongoing support of each of our stakeholders, we will continue meeting the challenges of today and transform our district into a model for the nation.
