Man Badly Burned in Tyler

TYLER — A man has been severely burned in Tyler after his costume caught fire. It happened just before 6:45 Thursday night in the 2100 block of Holly Leaf Drive. Fire Marshall Paul Findley says the man in his late 40s suffered extensive burns of varying degrees over multiple parts of his body. Bystanders extinguished the flames. The man was taken to a Tyler hospital for treatment and later flown to a Dallas hospital. The initial report was the fire may have started from a cigarette. The investigation into the incident continues.
