Friday Holiday in the Park Events Cancelled; Saturday Events Still Scheduled

TYLER — The events scheduled for yesterday at Holiday in the Park were cancelled due to rain. The Tyler Parks and Recreation Department had intended to have a “Snow Play” and “Kids Zone” in Bergfeld Park. All events scheduled for today will still go on as scheduled.
* The Holiday Bazaar from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. featuring more than 50 vendors displaying a wide variety of gift items.
* The “Snow Play” and the “Kids Zone” will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. for kids of all ages.
* Local dance groups will entertain from 11:30 a.m. until 5 p.m.
* Santa Scirto will be available for photographs between 3:45-5:30 p.m.
* Finally, the evening will wrap up with a showing of “12 Dogs for Christmas” in the amphitheater at 6 p.m.
The Holiday in the Park event also invites citizens to bring toys, games and clothing for the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree. Gifts are needed for both children and senior adults. A drop off station will be located by the snow hill area and can be brought to the event both Friday, Dec. 13 between 4 and 8 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 14 between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. The snow play, movie and entertainment are free of charge.
