Body Identified, Homicide Investigation Continuing

LONGVIEW � The Longview Police Department is continuing its investigation of a body found in the woods near Skipper Lake. The body has been identified as that of Andres Chavez, 19, of Longview, shown here on Face Book page. Monday morning shortly after 7:30, authorities were dispatched to a report of a dead body in the 1100 Block of Sabine Street. When officers arrived they found a man lying outside a car near a wooded area. Police have not made a positive identification of the victim. They say they are treating the death as a homicide.
