TxDOT Project Updates

TYLER — Here’s a quick look at other work planned in Smith County by the Tyler District of the Texas Department of Transportation.
VAN ZANDT COUNTY – Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews this week are scheduled to perform fog seal operations in both directions on Interstate Highway 20 between Farm Road 1255 east of Canton and the Smith County Line. Daytime lane closures will be in effect while the work is in progress. Motorists are encouraged to be prepared to reduce speed and merge in and around the work zones.
SMITH COUNTY – Texas Department of Transportation construction contractor East Texas Bridge, Inc., of Longview, is scheduled to begin preliminary work to add passing lanes to State Highway of Tyler between Farm Road 850 and Farm Road 757. The $3.5 million project let to contract in September 2013, and is scheduled for completion in the summer of 2015.
GREGG COUNTY – Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews this week are scheduled to perform edge work on Farm Road 2011 in the recently resurfaced area between Farm Road 349 east of Kilgore and the eaast bound IH-20 onramp at Farm Road 2087. Daytime lane closures will be in effect while the work is in progress, and flaggers will control traffic.
CHEROKEE COUNTY – Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews this week are scheduled to perform edge and shoulder work on Farm Road 747 north of U.S. Highway 79. Daytime lane closures will be in effect while the work is in progress, and flaggers will control traffic.
ANDERSON COUNTY – Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews this week are scheduled to make base and pavement repairs on Farm Road 319 between State Highway 294 and the end of state maintenance. Daytime lane closures will be in effect while the work is in progress, and flaggers will control traffic.
RUSK COUNTY – Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews this week are scheduled to continue edge work on U.S. Highway 259 between Farm Road 850 and Loop 571 in Henderson. Daytime lane closures will be in effect while the work is in progress. Motorists are encouraged to be prepared to reduce speed and merge in and around the work zones.
HENDERSON COUNTY – Texas Department of Transportation maintenance crews this week are scheduled to perform shoulder work on Farm Road 1615 between State Highway 19 south of Athens and the end of state maintenance. Daytime lane closures will be in effect while the work is in progress, and flaggers will control traffic.
