Deputy Released after Being Injured in Smith County Wreck

SMITH COUNTY � Smith County Sheriff�s Deputy Tim McDonald has been treated and released from Tyler’s East Texas Medical Center after being involved in a multi-vehicle accident near Lake Palestine. Public Information Officer John Moore says the wreck happened Wednesday morning at the intersection of Highway 155 and Farm Road 344 when the driver of an SUV, Christion Caldwell, rear-ended McDonald. Caldwell was expected to be charged with failure to maintain speed.
