Tyler ISD BOND 2013 Construction Update

TYLER Progress is visible on Tyler ISDs new Career and Technical Education (CTE) Center located at the corner of Bennett Avenue and Earl Campbell Parkway, according to a news release from the school district. The new facility is a result of a multi-million dollar bond package passed by voters last May. BOND 2013 projects also include two new middle school campuses at the existing Moore MST Magnet School and Boulter Middle School locations, one new middle school at the Three Lakes location in South Tyler and renovations and additions to Dixie and Rice elementary schools.
At the CTE Center construction site, all concrete building slabs are complete and structural steel framework is ahead of schedule, according to officials. They say masonry walls and the framing of exterior walls have begun and more of the second floor slab will be poured next week. Roofing is also due to begin next week on the first two-story section of the building. At the elementary school campuses, slab work is also complete and the early stages of masonry work have begun at Rice Elementary, while at Dixie Elementary, the foundation work is complete and ready for slabs to be placed. Structural steel will be delivered to both campuses in early April, officials say. According to the news release, the excitement continues at all three middle school locations as contractors are moving on-site and beginning the site clearing and earthwork phases. The District has planned formal groundbreaking ceremonies for all three sites to take place in April.

Three Lakes location: Friday, April 4 at 10 a.m.
Boulter Middle School: Thursday, April 10 at 9 a.m.
Moore MST Magnet School: Thursday, April 17 at 10 a.m.
