sheriff-smithcountyFLINT — Officials Thursday released new information on a case in which a toddler died after being found in a truck. Late in the day on June 11, a search warrant was executed at the Flint-area residence where two toddlers were discovered in a pickup with the windows rolled up during one of the hottest parts of the day. That’s according to a news release from the Smith County Sheriff’s office. The pickup has been taken to the SCSO Crime Lab for processing. According to officials, that investigation is ongoing and no information will be released by SCSO until it is completed.

KETK identifies the deceased child as four-year-old Bella Lindstrom and the survivor as three-year-old Zoe Lindstrom. An autopsy has been ordered on the four-year-old. The three-year-old was initially treated and released at the scene by EMS, but later was taken to a local hospital for additional evaluation. The Smith County Sheriff’s Office is working with CPS on an investigation regarding the surviving child. No charges have yet been filed in the case. The investigation will take time and sheriffs detectives are continuing to work on it, according to officials. Authorities say additional information will be released as it becomes available.

The case came to light after dispatch received a 911 call from a person reporting two unresponsive toddlers inside a vehicle. It happened around 3:00 Wednesday in the 18000 block of County Road 1100. EMS arrived and found the two girls. The four-year-old was transported to a local hospital, where she died.
