josecasianomugMARSHALL — Harrison County investigators have met with the United States Marshals Office in Dallas and returned an illegal alien, who is an East Texas murder suspect, from Mexico. According to KETK, Jose Casiano-Aburto fled to Mexico after he was named a suspect in the death of 2-year-old Yeli Madalyn Jimenez. The suspect fled to Central Mexico in February of 2012, after her death.

Efforts to return him for investigation and trial began with the U.S. Department of State, U.S. Marshals Office, U.S. Homeland Security and the Mexican government. He was arrested in Mexico and held for extradition back to the United States and Harrison County. An agreement was made not to include the death penalty in the trial for the childs death, which cleared the way for his return. He’s being held in the Harrison County Jail with bond set at $1,000,000. A trial date has not been set.
