Tyler ISD BOND 2013 Construction Update

thumb_TISD_Logo_NewTYLER From concrete foundations to exterior brick, construction projects on new and existing Tyler ISD facilities are progressing as scheduled, according to a TISD news release. The projects include the new Career and Technology Center (CTC), two new middle school campuses at the existing Moore MST Magnet School and Boulter Middle School locations, the new Three Lakes Middle School in South Tyler, and renovations and additions to Dixie and Rice elementary schools.

At the CTC, all structural steel beams are erected and framing on interior walls continues. Workers have begun installing sheetrock in the first floor areas. The ceiling work is almost complete on the second floor and the roof has been dried-in on all areas of the main building. Exterior brick and metal panels are being installed on the main building.

At Rice Elementary School, interior walls are being framed, exterior brickwork has begun, and ceiling work is almost complete. The interior remodel of the existing building began June 10. At Dixie Elementary School, masonry work is complete and the classroom wing is nearing completion. The Sheetrock process is underway in the gym and cafeteria and the interior remodel work began June 10 as well.

At Moore MST Magnet School, underground utilities and foundation work are complete in three areas of the building. The excavation of the courtyard is also complete. Preparations are underway for slab placement in two of these areas. At Boulter Middle School, a new road from Garden Valley has been poured and concrete foundations in two areas are being installed. Installation of underground utilities in one of these areas is almost complete. At the new Three Lakes Middle School, a parking lot and building slabs have been poured and steel beams are being erected in three areas. In a fourth area, concrete foundations and grading work for the slab is in progress.

Every month, the Districts construction project manager, Monte Robinett, provides construction updates to the Tyler ISD Board of Trustees during regularly scheduled board meetings, which are typically held on the third Thursday of the month at the Plyler Instructional Complex.
