Kidnapped Arkansas Girl Rescued in Texas

WINNSBORO � A young girl kidnapped in Arkansas has been rescued by Winnsboro, Texas policemen. Benton, Arkansas authorities tipped off Winnsboro officers that the six year old and her abductors may be heading to their area. When the youngster got out of a car matching the description of a vehicle provided by Arkansas authorities, Winnsboro officers were able to rescue her. She was turned over to her maternal grandmother who was in Winnsboro Tuesday. A woman from Dennison, who was driving the vehicle, was taken into custody. She told officers two persons had asked her to swap vehicles and to take the girl to Winnsboro. The woman, termed a person of interest, was later released. The two suspects remain at large.
