Tyler Vehicle-Pedestrian Fatality Still under Investigation

TYLER � A man struck and killed trying to cross the Tyler loop has been identified as Kenneth Linnel Jones Jr., 23, of Tyler. The accident happened shortly before 10:30 Monday night at the intersection of Loop 323 and State Highway 110 North. Investigators say the man was hit by several cars as he tried to cross in an area that is not designated as a crosswalk. The man was first hit by a vehicle that left the scene. Two other cars, which were unable to avoid hitting the victim, did stop. The first vehicle is thought to be a Chevrolet, and should have damage to its front end.
