Longview Police Continue to Investigate Fatal Shooting

LONGVIEW � Longview police continue to investigate after one person was killed and one was injured in an early morning shooting, and there’s preliminary word on the identity of the deceased. The shooting occurred just before 4:00 Thursday morning in the 100 block of Garfield Drive. One victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The injured victim was taken to a local hospital, treated, and released. Police did not release their identities, but the Longview News-Journal quotes family members in identifying the victim as Tyson Patterson, 33.
