Police Release Pictures of High-Speed Chase Suspect

LINDALE � Lindale police have released pictures of the alleged driver involved in last weekend’s high-speed chase in Smith County. According to KETK, police say they are looking for Carlos Bonilla, 22, who was last seen near Garden Valley Road in Tyler. The chase began shortly after 9:00 p.m. Friday on Highway 69 in Lindale. Police say they were conducting a traffic stop when Bonilla pulled out a weapon. He then reportedly sped off with police following close by. During the high speed pursuit Bonilla allegedly shot at police.

The chase continued onto Garden Valley Road, where police say Bonilla wrecked his vehicle. He and the two other passengers in the car got out and began running, according to authorities. Police were able to stop and arrest Jesus Flores Jr., 27, and Thomas Ocampo, 25. Bonilla is still on the loose. Anyone with any information on his whereabouts is asked to contact the Lindale Police Department.
