police-tyler-carTYLER – Two Tyler businesses were robbed Sunday. Shortly after 10:15 Sunday night, the Chevron station at 1808 West Gentry was held up. The store clerk reported that two black males, one with a handgun, stole the money from the cash register and fled on foot. She described one suspect as being about 5’08 inches tall with a slender build, wearing a dark colored hoodie and blue bandana over his face. The second suspect stayed outside the store and was only described as being tall with a dark colored long sleeve shirt.

The first robbery occurred around 1:00 Sunday morning. It was at the Exxon station at 1516 South Vine. According to officers, the clerk told them that two armed men, with bandanas covering their faces, entered the store and demanded money. The men then reportedly fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash. The investigation is ongoing. The two heists followed a pair of robberies Friday and Saturday at convenience stores on Front Street and Troup Highway. Police say the first two incidents were similar in style.
