One Wounded in Smith County Shooting

SMITH COUNTY – A man has been treated and released following a Smith County shooting. Sheriff’s deputies are still looking for the suspect. It was said to have resulted from an argument between the man and his girlfriend. The man, Larry Rhodes, was said to have been shot once in the hip and then taken by private vehicle to the University of Texas Health Center. The shooting occurred at a home on U.S. Highway 271 North. The investigation is continuing.
