East Texas Council of GovernmentsKILGORE – The East Texas Council of Governments has announced that it was named as an award winner at the 2014 National Rural Transportation Peer Learning Conference held in Cincinnati on December 3 – 5. According to an ETCOG news release, the honor comes for ETCOG’S marketing and communications videos produced for EasTexConnects that were released last year. The National Association of Development Organizations (NADO) Research Foundation and RPO America program recognizes noteworthy projects and practices in rural and small metropolitan areas that help meet regional needs through various program areas, according to the news release. Those program areas include bicycle and pedestrian planning, air quality, equity, project implementation, public involvement, safety, and transit.
