katieeagerkxanLONGVIEW — The Pine Tree ISD Foundation Thursday announced a memorial fund set up in honor of a former student murdered in Cedar Park on February 17. According to KETK, the Katie Eager Memorial Endowment will be open to receive donations starting on Monday, March 2. The money will be used to help fund teacher grants and unique opportunities for children, according to the foundation.

Police arrested Adam Richard Solis, the boyfriend of the 24-year-old Eager, at his family’s home in San Antonio on February 18. Officials called the alleged murder a “rage killing” made in passion. Cedar Park Police Chief Sean Mannix says Solis was involved in a heated argument with Eager before shooting her in a crime of passion, something police say is evident from the number of shots fired. Eager was on the Pine Tree Precision Drill Team as Captain from 2008-2009. You can contact the foundation at (903) 295-5021.
