No injuries have been reported. Fire Marshal Johnny Zackary tells the Longview News-Journal that about 75 patients were evacuated from Eden Select Specialty Care on Thursday night. Damage was also reported in other areas of the city. Zackary says officials are working on the damage assessment and removing trees from streets.
National Weather Service meteorologist Matt Hemingway says they’re investigating several reports of possible tornado damage in East Texas but said it’s too early to confirm any tornados. Thousands were without power in East Texas. The National Weather Service’s “enhanced risk” area Thursday stretched from northeast Texas to the upper Midwest.
