Sheriff’s Office Investigates Attempted Robbery

SMITH COUNTY — The Smith County Sheriff’s Office has been searching for two men who attempted to rob a Tyler business. KETK reports the attempted robbery happened Saturday morning at the Araujo’s Tires shop in the 4900 block of Highway 110. Officials say two black men entered the business and demanded money. When the employee refused, they hit him over the head. After several seconds, the two men left the building, firing four shots inside. No one was seriously injured. The employee is expected to recover. The two men were still at large at last report. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Smith County Sheriff’s Office right away.
