Authorities were alerted to the reported bandits when a man reportedly saw the pair take an item from the back of his truck. The complainant called dispatchers and began tailing the suspects. At one point, the woman jumped out of the car and distracted the caller while the man unhooked a trailer hauling the stolen item, according to reports. Officials say the suspects then ditched the car before taking off into a wooded area. Officials are looking for a short, white, heavy-set female, with tattooed legs, who is missing a shoe. A man identified as Monty Sawyer, 38, of Wood County, is currently in custody. He is being charged with theft and burglary of a building and is being held in the smith county jail under a $200,000 bond.
