One Dead Following Nightclub Shooting near Kilgore

GREGG COUNTY — One person has died following a late Tuesday night shooting at a club near Kilgore. According to KETK, Gregg County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Kirk Haddix says the shooting happened around 9:15 p.m. at The Platinum Club on Highway 31 near the Smith County line. When they arrived, deputies found Reginald Ward, 39, of Kilgore, in the parking lot with multiple gunshot wounds. Ward was taken to a Tyler hospital where he later died. An autopsy has been ordered. Deputies have identified someone in connection with the shooting but have not made an arrest. The suspect’s name has not been publicly released.
