Anderson County Man Draws Federal Prison Term
Posted/updated on: June 11, 2015 at 4:10 pmTYLER — A Palestine man has been sentenced in Tyler Federal Court to prison for drug trafficking violations in East Texas. Abel Estrada Jr., 22, pleaded guilty on February 19 to possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute. He was sentenced Wednesday to 33 months in federal prison by U.S. District Judge Michael H. Schneider. According to federal prosecutors, on October 25, 2013, in Palestine, Estrada Jr. delivered approximately 28 grams of methamphetamine to a person. The court also found that from October 1, 2013 through September 24, 2014, Estrada distributed at least 40 grams of a methamphetamine and that during that time period, Estrada Jr. and received at least $10,000.00 from the delivery of the drug.
