Social Media Helps in the Arrest of Theft Suspects

Surrendering to authorities today were Raul Cardenas Olivarria, 19, and Pedro Silva, 18. The two Marshall men have been charged with organized retail theft.
The theft occured July 9 theft at the Circle K at U.S. Highway 59 and Poplar Street. The two are said to have taken a 30-pack of beer, some wine coolers and a six-pack of Mike’s Hard Lemonade. The social media and media outlets displayed the teens pictures. There were over 5,000 views of the suspect’s pictures. This led to calls regarding the idenity of the two. After being called in for questioning, a warrant was obtained for their arrest. The two voluntarily surrendered to authorities Monday morning and were taken to the Harrison County Jail.
