Palestine Man Added to the Texas Lottery Commission

Doug LoweAUSTIN — An Anderson County man is one of four persons named by the governor to the Texas Lottery Commission. Named to the panel was Doug Lowe of Palestine. He was named to a term set to expire on February 1, 2017. Lowe is a solo practitioner at the Lowe Law Firm. He previously served as criminal district attorney in Anderson County for 16 years. He is a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow, board member and treasurer for the Palestine YMCA, trial skills trainer for the Texas Children’s Commission, and certified fraud examiner. Additionally, he serves as an adjunct instructor for Trinity Valley Community College. Lowe received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Houston and a Juris Doctor from the University of Houston Law Center.

The Governor also appointed to the commission Carmen Arrieta-Candelaria of El Paso, Peggy Heeg of Houston and Robert Rivera of Arlington. All four appointments must still be approved by the Texas Senate.
