TJC’s TRIO program offers opportunities for academic growth, assistance with requirements, and serves to motivate toward successful completion of a post-secondary degree.
The program provides individual academic coaching, academic advisement and placement, tutoring, study skills seminars, financial literacy and scholastic probation prevention. TRIO provides an opportunity for students to learn about the transfer process through university transfer information and campus visits.
The Federal TRIO Programs are federal outreach and student services programs designed to identify and provide services for individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds. TRIO includes eight programs targeted to serve and assist low-income individuals, first-generation college students, and individuals with disabilities to progress through the academic pipeline from middle school to post-baccalaureate programs. It also includes a training program for directors and staff of TRIO projects.
