Suspect Arrested in Fatal Hit and Run Accident

KILGORE — Kilgore police have made an arrest in a fatal hit and run accident. A warrant for accident involving death was issued Monday for Krysten Nycole McCarty, 25, of Kilgore. She has been identified as the driver of the minivan that struck and killed Robert Jack Moorhead, 5. She was arrested and booked into the Kilgore Municipal Jail. The vehicle, a 2006 Dodge Caravan, has been found about a block away from the accident scene and was seized. The young boy was riding a push scooter near the roadway when hit by a grey mini van. He later died at a Kilgore hospital. The accident happened shortly after 3:00 Sunday afternoon in the 1900 block of Florence Street
